Tips for Motocross Beginners
If you are a motocross beginner, then being excited for your first race is a given. But the question is: Are you nervous? Well, probably most if not all first-timers are. However, if you want to at least take your game a step higher, then you might want to check out these tips.
First off, if you are going to a competition in a different town or country, you might want to book your accommodation ahead of time. This will make sure that you have a good place to stay in before the big day. If you rush ahead without this, you might end up not resting well and it will definitely affect how you ride.
Second, you need to check out the track. Small details such as mud puddles or wet areas can still cause bad slips-offs. Next, always be sure to be updated on the latest scruitineering (the process of checking out your motorbike for safety purposes) rules and regulations. For this, always check your bike parts such as wheel bearings, functioning brakes, handle bars, and other components that may cause an accident.
Furthermore, be sure to take note about the rider's briefing. You need to attend it as you can gather a lot of information there that might be of use. In addition, you need to get to the starting line as early as possible. This will at least give you time to calm yourself down to avoid choking up or freezing. Lastly, build up confidence through practice. Every time you are given the time to ride off your bike, be sure to utilise it; before the race starts, in between races, or even at the end of the day.
